Today is National Special Education Day - The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was signed into law on this day in 1975. A special thank you to Mr. Ault, our special education director, Mr. Terry Savage, our school psychologist, as well as to the following middle school special educators at BMS: Mr. Bailey McGrath, Mrs. Angie Davis, Mrs. Jennie Hubbard, Mrs. Brea Call, Mr. Kevin Schmidli, Mr. Justin Myers, Mrs. Rachael Littell, Mr. Mason Ramsay, Mrs. Brittany Schmidt, Mrs. Amy Beaver, & Mrs. Jennifer Kaczor! Our educators go above and beyond to ensure that our students receive an inclusive education where they thrive and flourish.

Mrs. Hawkins’ 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Choir students, along with the BHS Choir performed this evening at the WesBanco Arena for Symphony on Ice! Our students even stopped between performances at Independence Hall in Wheeling to perform there…Wow! We are SO PROUD of you, Big Reds! ❤️🖤🎼🖤❤️

BMS started an attendance incentive this month! The homeroom with the highest percentage of attendance each month, per grade level, wins a pizza party. The winners this month -

The Bellaire Thespians, under the direction of Mr. Ed Street, performed at the Shadyside Library this evening! We had a few middle school students perform with our BHS students - Savannah Porter, Ella Douglas, Serenity Anderson, & Carley McFeley! ❤️🖤🎭🖤❤️
Bellaire Middle School’s 8th Grade Student of the Month for November 2022 is Raekwon Pettigrew. His 8th grade teachers write that, "Kwon is a natural leader. He is a trustworthy student who is often called upon to take up leadership positions within the class. This is a reflection of his maturity for his age. He goes above and beyond to help any student that is in need. He was observed consoling another student who was struggling emotionally. Way to go, Kwon, stay true to yourself!" Raekwon will be recognized at the Bellaire Board of Education Meeting on Monday, December 12 at 5:00 p.m. at Bellaire High School! ❤️🖤

He is a hard-worker and very respectful of his teachers. He recently competed in the school spelling bee and earned 3rd place. Most importantly, his is always very kind to his fellow students and is always willing to help others."
